Neuro-Muscular-Anti-Aging

What is Neuro-Muscular-Anti-Aging?  NMAA is the process of biomechanically applying neuromuscular stimulation, some raw strength training, very specific dosages of cardiovascular work and very easy to follow diet plan. NMAA protocol for anti-aging was developed out of several years of research and application.  This research followed two paths, the actual physiological results of aging and evolution survival factors.  It was found that certain activities actually combat the effects of aging.  NMAA protocol was developed to tease out these benefits in a manner that does not harm or wear out the body.  There are many factors that add to our aging, our lifestyle and habits, stress, poor diet, etc.  We will help you with those as well.  While, NMAA protocol does not directly address skin aging, the is an indirect positive affect as a result of NMAA protocol.  The NMAA protocol was designed to affect the primary aging factors that negatively affect quality of life and physical appearance as we age, The primary factors that truly affect the aging process AND are minimized by the NMAA method are listed below.

​Mitochondrial Biogenesis Rates Decrease

Mitochondria are the power houses of our cells.  We begin to produce fewer of these as we age. This slows us down and impairs our ability to grow new muscle and maintain existing muscle. This is one of the factors that leads to muscle wasting or Sarcopenia and increase in sagging skin and loss of body shape. 

Neuromuscular Innervation Rates

Loss of mitochondria and satellite cell population, causes muscle wasting.  As our muscles whether, we loss vital neural connectivity.  As a result, we slow down, have little energy and lack the muscular responsiveness we enjoyed in our youth.

Related to this muscle wasting is a shrinking brain. Research has proven that individuals that participate in challenging strength training programs do not suffer from this.

Decrease in Satellite Cells

Satellite cells are found in whats called the endomysium which is a network of collective fibers surrounding each muscle fiber in your body.  These are primarily destined to be new muscle fibers.  The population of satellite cells goes down as we age, and really goes down with inactivity.  This leads to shrinking muscles, and sagging skin, etc. 

Endothelin-1 (ET-1) Increase In blood stream

As we age ET-1 levels tend to increase and in activity only speeds up the increase. ET-1 is a protein that cause vasoconstriction of the smaller vessels in the body were nutrition is distributed, thus making muscle maintenance difficult. ET-1 also inhibits the release of nitric oxide which help to increase blood flow.
